Project Overview: Since the early August of 2021 there have been multiple wildfires in Greece occurring. 3 people have been killed, 20 people injured, and numerous houses were burned. 125,000 hectares of land had been burned. In July and August of 2021 more than 200 wildfires occurred. There were 9 deaths, 800 injuries (that was not fatal), and 170,000 hectares of land were burned. The wildfire of Turkey is known to be the worst wildfire ever in the country’s history.
Viridian Tree Project’s Contributions to the WWF: VTP will order trees, create t-shirts, and stickers to sell plants. We will create a website and have members sell plants to raise funds. We will donate our funds to environmental projects of WWF for the improvement of the Earth.
